A Pot of Coffee & A Pot of Gold...

I was on a huge biscotti kick this week - I made my first ever batch of biscotti (the hardest part was deciding what kind to make...it's so easy it's redonkulous!) but I'm afraid it's become an addiction. What's better than a nutty cookie that you dip in your coffee?? Between biscotti & halloween candy it's been a rough week - I feel like I've been on a week long sugar-bender... And it's not over cuz I've got all afternoon and what would make the Cowboys/Giants game complete?? That's right - fresh biscotti... =) Me thinks the oven will be busy this afternoon... Oh, and if you're in the mood for a good pick me up? Starbucks has a new Hazelnut Signature Hot Chocolate - I HIGHLY recommend it. So good!! All that hazelnutty-chocolatey goodness topped with a little mountain of real whipped cream?? yum! (although I'm still trying to get over the shock of ME going to STARBUCKS and ordering something other than COFFEE!!! what!?)

Classes went well this week. I'm ahead of schedule on my online assignments, things are making sense (yay!) and we're ahead of schedule on our group communications project. Although the group project is revealing that contrary to my kindergarten report card - I do NOT work well with others. Well, not ALL others anyways. Why is there always a 'controller' in every group? I don't mind the work, but when the work involves taking a pushy person out of the driver's seat for the sake of my, and 3 other students', GPAs? oy... Pray for me this week - it could be a rough one... I'm not into losing friends, but I'm either gonna lose 1 or 3 over this project - I'm hoping God gives me the words I need to smooth the waters in the group, change the course of this ship that is our project, and in the event of an all out shipwreck - ensure enough lifeboats are distributed that nobody drowns... I wish I wasn't the editor (and therefore the final word) in our group because I'm SO not confrontational... But I realized this morning that it's a good thing I am the editor, because if the pushy person was the editor we'd have no say, and if any of the other three were the editor we'd be screwed because I'm the only person with half a chance to stand up to the problem. Ugh... Here's to hoping it's like ripping off a band-aid - it's gonna hurt like hell, so make it quick... right?

On a happier note - it's November 2nd, the weather is GORGEOUS! and the essence of life does not hinge on my GPA... It's all relative. =) Colleen was talking about discovering her inner leprechaun. That's kinda been my mantra this week. Discover your inner leprechaun - let him (or her) come out and dance a little - nothing makes the problem seem less problematic than doing a silly little jig while singing an Irish ditty. So seriously, embrace your inner leprechaun, sing & jig. =) You can guarantee I'll be embracing my inner leprechaun all week (hey, better a little green guy than the incredible hulk, right??) =P

*Disclaimer - People who are not Irish may not have inner leprechauns... in which case you may just have to take my word on this...*
