So I've been gone for awhile... oops! haha Time to trade in my steaming coffee mug for a tall glass of iced coffee!! Summer has arrived! Guess I should catch up on the last 3 months... I honestly didn't think it had been THAT long...
I finished my 1st year of BA (except for the Computer course - more on that later) with a 4.23 GPA. Year 2 starts in 2 months - we're in Steinbach for the Accounting major - there are only 12 or 14 of us but it should be fun =) I'm definitely looking forward to being in class again - I actually miss it (if you'd told me this when I was 14 I'd have likely told you where to go... haha...). I'm not wishing the summer away though - we FINALLY have some nice weather here in Manitoba! Hopefully we'll get to spend some time at the lake this year!
I was working at a lodge in the Whiteshell from the beginning of May until mid-June when I toasted my wrist. Tendonitis - apparently docking boats, raking & mowing lawns, hauling vaccuums and "manually" parking trikes is hard on a girl... go figure... Would have been nice if they'd hired enough people to do the job comfortably so that they didn't nearly kill their workers, but that might be asking too much... Oh well - I'm currently unemployed. Kind of... I'm 'technically' unemployed, but I've been babysitting for my cousins and working for SP again this week as they're short staffed for a Missions Trip and I actually ended up making more than I would have at the lodge... Kinda funny =) Anyways - I'm enjoying not really having any commitments and also getting the opportunity to spend some time with 3 of my favourite little munchkins once or twice a week!! Life is good ;)
Back to the Computer Course. Because I was taking my courses by "course basis" this past year, the Computer course was full in the fall (not enough computers in the lab we were assigned to for 1st term) so I didn't get a spot in the class. It's really quite ridiculous that I have to take it at all - probably all of the students in the program could have TAUGHT the course, but there's no assessment set up for it yet so we all had to endure. I'm taking it by correspondence from July to December. Well - maybe just for July. There are 4 modules and 2 exams. I finished the first module in one day (the day BEFORE the course started actually). Amusing... The instructor had my assignments marked and back to me before the end of the first day of the course - apparently I'm not the only keener... haha... So I've got something to keep me busy and get me back into the swing of having an attention span before September (which is good!). Kinda nice to have a course that's super easy too - makes you feel good about yourself when your first assignments come back graded 100%... Ok, enough bragging...
So that's life these days! Nothin special - nothing too exciting, but good none the less. I'm anxiously waiting for my daisies to bloom. They've been "close" for about 3 days now and they look like they could pop open at any minute - but they're keeping me waiting... I love daisies - they're my absolute favourite flower, can't wait to enjoy them in their full blossomy goodness! =)
Happy Summer folks - eat some bbq, drink some cold bevee, and soak up some rays (oh and don't forget to relax a little!) Summer is short in this fair country of ours so you need to be on your toes or you might miss it!!!
